What’s next after your manuscript is structurally sound? The copy edit is what you need. It would help if you fine-tuned” your story, making it presentable to your future readers. We will focus on the more microscopic parts of storytelling. That includes improving your sentence structure, eliminating purple prose, or pointing out places where your text can flow better. Other things we will look out for are: • Repetitive sentences • Instances of passive voice • Vague language such as “it.” • Awkward dialogue Copy editing is also sometimes known as line editing. We will go through your story and refine it line by line, spotting more specific mistakes in a story, such as incorrect facts, story anomalies, and potential inconsistencies in character descriptions.
